My IBS-D investigation!

Hi all, so I've been struggling with IBS-D with urgency for over two years. It went from nearly every day to now once a month. I was so depressed I wanted to end it all sorry to be morbid! But I had enough, i decided in a last effort to turn to what I'm eating. Turns out I have a fructan intolerance, cut that out - boom, gone. Noticed I also get flare up with fatty food, cut that out, no D at all. So dont give up hope! Every new food is exciting rather than terrifying as I think 'ok let's see if this sits right!' If it does, it goes on my safe list and I'm over the moon! If not, I'm happy I've found another little enemy I can avoid for future reference and get so much closer to a better diet. Youll find the symptoms fascinating! Get a dietitian who specialises in low fodmap diet and follow it to a T! I honestly thought there was something more sinister going on so I saw a gastro. He said I'm healthy and fine, no celiac or anything. I do have methane SIBO, which I suspect has caused the fructan intolerance. I have got in touch with a herbalist to help treat the sibo. So please dont give up, I wanted to post this to let you know there is hope, a big majority of IBS is what we put into our mouths! I use symptom tracker app which also is a food diary *amazing!!* and also monash fodmap app. Normal bms and my life is nearly back. My prayers go out to every IBS sufferer and that you all find your unique way of overcoming this horrible illness x
