Hi all,

I've been suffering with constipation and diarrhoea for a couple of weeks infact I can't remember the last time I had a normal bowel movement. It's come down to now when I go its majorly mucusy with blood. It doesn't hurt, I have been taking senna and drinking 4-8 sachets of Laxido but nothing has changed. I know it's normal but I guess I want to gauge how bad it is. I've seen the doctor twice there advice is to keep on taking the laxido and increase fibre intake. I've got a sister with Crohn's disease and a father with diverticulitis. Just wondering what next and should I be worried.??

Generally, both, mucus and blood, are indications of something being not right, however, we all know our own bodies, and what is right or normal for us. Bearing that in mind, and the fact that you have asked a question of this group, leads me to the conclusion that you think it may not be right, but want a push before deciding to ask your doctor...….. Well here's the PUSH>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Go and see your GP or GI consultant or IBD/IBS nurse.
