Calprotectin home test kit
Hi Hidden
I have chosen an IBS GI who is several hundred miles away so we consult (privately) by telephone for the majority of the time.
I did a calprotectin test at home because I am too old for the NHS (it's 45 years old or younger in my health area)...obviously older people don't contract IBD!!
My GI was happy to accept a Medichecks test (£99) as reliable and he works in the NHS as well as privately so I would consider him as 'mainstream'.

Good luck
Thank you so much for replying David I’m 47 so I wonder if that’s why I wasn’t given the test! Many thanks for the info and link too. Best wishes to you.
You’re welcome...it depends on health authority, apparently. In some areas it goes up to 60. I guess they work on the theory you can’t develop Crohns or Colitis in later life!!
In my case, East Sussex, they are obviously just cheapskates! 😊
The post code lottery! It would seem so...but all under the NHS umbrella how ridiculous!
