Recently I've been diagnosed with IBS and I've been given mebeverine to help with the cramps, which has worked. One of my symptoms was indigestion, feeling full quickly, nausea, lack of appetite, and just general stomach discomfort. I was given lansoprazole for it, but it doesn't seem to work. I'm still getting those symptoms and its really bothering me. I'm eating close to nothing because I just feel sick all the time and I really want to eat, I just can't. I'm not sure what could be the cause of this and I don't know what else to do to help. I've tried peppermint oil as well as the lansoprazole (not taken at the same time of course) and this doesn't seem to help either.

IBS treatment helps but still getting indigestion
Hi sheisun
I take mebeverine but I find Zantac works better for indigestion for me. I’ve also recently more, following a horrible flare up this spring, started taking milk thistle tablets and drinking dandelion root tea and that seems to be helping with my nausea. It is horrible though feeling sick. My consultant did also prescribe metoclopramide for sickness and also suggested a low dose of amitriptyline for IBs too - that was too sedating for me though. It is worth going back to your doctor and discussing further.
If your female and feel full all the time ask your GP for a Ca-125 blood test.
If you are male or female go back to your GP and ask for a gastroscopy/and or colonoscopy to make sure he/ she has eliminated all other possibilities
Hi. My son suffered same as you and has been tested for everything but they have put it down to a functional disorder (slow motility) probably IBS. They have prescribed anti nausea tablets - Ondansetron for flare ups & dulcolax for mild constipation he has, now he is recovering from flare up he finds eating little & often helps nausea & struggles to eat a big meal. He was prescribed omeprazole to start with by GP but consultant took him off those as said they wouldn’t be helping & i think probably caused more nausea personally. He was also told to avoid high fat, spicy & citrus foods. Definitely go back to doctor & get referred would be my advice if not already seen a consultant. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.
Try senocalm capsules they are especially made for ibs take two after each meal the results are amazing bother my granddaughter and I are big sufferers of ibs and have tried numerous things but these really are good can buy them at Superdrug or Morrison’s or maybe on prescription if you have a generous doctor good luck let me know how you get onchrissy
