Imodium for IBS-D

Just read up about Imodium for ibs-d, I'm taking sertraline at the moment (an antidepressant) and was wondering whether this would be a bad idea.

I really like Immodium but don't know whether it's alright with your other medication. Your GPs surgery should be able to tell you. Good luck.

Hi...I've been taking sertraline for over two years, and have taken Imodium many times, without any adverse effect.I think I've hit on....not a cure for my ibs.....but taking one Imodium at night with the sertraline seems, crossed fingers....seems to have controlled my ibs.

I'm prescribed Setraline and loperamide hydrochloride by my GP as Setraline contains lactose which inflames my ibsd. I also top up with immodium instants when I go on a trip. Had no adverse side effects so go for it

I am also taking Sertraline, but also take Imodium when I need it. I don't think there is any problem with taking both.

I take anti depressants and use imodium frequently. You could ask your pharmacist, if doctor not available. Good luck.
