If it’s IBS it usually comes with stomach cramping and gas as well, but not always. Although a doctor will put it under that to just move on quickly to the next patient.

I would try adding more fibre to your diet, google the foods that contain more fibre and add those, eat the set amount every day required and drink lots of water, see if that helps over a few weeks. If not see your doctor and they can give more advice or prescribe something to help hopefully x

Constipation means not going to the loo to poo regularly and may mean feeling cramps, stomach problems and pain. If you go to the loo regularly this will be reduced hopefully. If you drink enough water and eat vegetables fruit and fibre this may all help unless you have more complicated problems that need specialist help. IBS may be constipation predominant or diarrhea predominant depending on how your gut works. They do not know exactly what causes IBS.

The FODMAP diet also may help - you can google this.

The things I have found help with constipation are fibogel and yakult. They are available from supermarkets in the UK. Fibogel is more fibre and yakult contains healthy bacteria. There are some people who do not find fibre helpful but this is less common to be a problem if you have constipation.

You should write down what you eat every day and then see how it affects you this is the first stage to helping yourself and see your doctor of course if you are worried that it is affecting your life.

Do you mean the stools are hard?

Yes and sometimes soft but only tiny bits come out

If the stools are hard it can be because you aren't drinking enough water.

First thing in morning at least 20 minutes before you eat drink half a pint to a pint of water and see if it helps. Do it for a while.

Yes more water and you can eat other veg such as carrots peas if you can and corn they should not cause too much wind, I agree I cannot eat cabbage or much broccoli too. Also fruit such as apples is good and bananas, or any other fruit that does not make you too loose - should all help.
