Yes, and I believe this is a good thing as that kind of suggests that it is IBS and not anything else.
Yes definitely. It's most likely trapped gas moving around (I don't mean that to sound dismissive, I suffer from this myself and it can be excruciating and extremely debilitating long term).
Wind pains do with me when I get attacks of them, yes. I feel them jabbing me all over the place and have even felt them in the top of my legs sometimes. (which makes NO sense) Belly massage and something warm to drink like peppermint tea, and a warm pad of hot water bottle can help that with me. Or lying flat on the floor for a bit, breathing like I'm sleeping, or getting up and moving about, like going for a little walk.
