So I’ve been on a low carb diet for a few months and have had changed to the frequency of my bowel movement and Iam sometimes constipated. This morning, I had bad constipation and had a big hard stool with red blood on it. It really hurt my anus and it’s still hurting since this morning. Should I be concerned, maybe change my diet?

Constipation
You need to get it checked out..IIt could be piles but get it checked with your doctor so that you can get treatment. They will maybe give you a stool softener to help with the hardness. Also you might need to drink more water for hard stool, it helps soften them.
But go see your doctor and get it checked.
Ok thanks
Hi! It's not enough to say 'low carb diet'. Can you tell us what your diet consists of? You might be consuming too much fibre. How much and what types of fat are you eating? Do you take a magnesium supplement?
I do take magnesium supplements and have 2-3. Protein shakes a day. I stay away from all types of bread, pasta, rice etc and mainly eat chicken. I do have a fruit as snacks. Ive also been consuming 1500-1700 calories a day and go to the gym 4-5 times a week

I have the same, it started months ago with a hard stool and tiny bit of blood on stool and toilet paper. I thought was an anal fissure. I changed my diet and drank more water and it stopped hurting. But when I have a hard stool or constipated it starts again and hurts! Went to GI and was told I have Grade 1 hemmeroids internal. I received script for cream, worked great. But I went back to my norm of barely any water and off/on fiber, now starting again!! I am going in for colonoscopy to just make sure all is good, but need to get the hemmeroids under control. Maybe that’s what your dealing with?
