Anyone's ibs have its own clock..,

Basically my ibs starts at 4.30 am every morning or night depending how you look at it. I can pretty much set a clock by it. Regardless of what I do or when I eat or when I go to bed the night before, 4.30 boom wind, cramps and then diarrhoea. Followed by maybe two - three trips to the loo. Sometimes I get nauseous sometimes not but always without fail 4.30am. Exhausted doesn't really cover it.

I'm wondering if anyone else has the same or similar experience?

Have you been diagnosed with IBS and are you seeing a gastroenterologist. If not, I would do these things.

Not quite yet and yes. I'm have investigations done. Had a SeCHAT test yesterday looking at possible BAD. Not sure it's this though as I don't always get liquid d and I can go chucks if time with very few symptoms. Do these symptoms not sound like typical ibs to you?

Hi yes I go through phases where it's around that time too! I get severely nauseous with mine, have to take anti nausea medication and a sedative to calm my system down. Terrible pain and diarreah, it is absolutely draining! I told my gastroenterologist, he just shrugged his shoulders, says there isnt anything to do about it. I have had severe ibsd for 26 years now

Gosh that doesn't sound like a very good dr! I get nauseous too but not always, an antiemetic gets on top of that but all other drugs have been a dead end so far. Kinda hope my SeCHAT test is positive cos at least that would be a definitive diagnosis. Ah well I'll have to see.

Please let us know how the SeCHAT test goes. I had one last year but it came back negative but I am always interested in other people having it done. My cousin has it so I thought that might be what was wrong with me.

My SeChat test was positive for bile salt malabsorption and I take six coveselam tablets a day which helps

I dont have any other disorders with my ibsd, no celiac , absorption issues etc. It is just ibs, and there is no cure unfortunately

For the longest time, the quality of my day would usually hinge on that first trip to the bathroom in the morning. Usually within an hour of waking up, I'd have to go #2. If things were bad, I would take Imodium before going to work. But then I had a bad reaction to a probiotic about six months ago which completely changed my routine. The timing was less predictable and I started having sudden attacks of D at work in the middle of the afternoon. Have you thought about maybe taking Imodium before bed to slow down your digestion? I take it most days, only side effect is it makes me have to pee a lot. Also I started taking calcium carbonate supplements before bedtime. It's actually made a big difference in my symptoms.

The thing to remember about IBS is that it's not a real diagnosis. It's actually a lack of a diagnosis. When someone has a bunch of symptoms that can't be traced to one specific trigger or medical explanation, they call it a "syndrome". That's why what works for some people to treat their IBS might not work for others, and why we all have different triggers and varying symptoms. Important to be your own advocate and figure out what treatments work best for you personally. These forums are a great place to find ideas, I've learned more in these communities than from any doctors or tests.

Hi ! I know this is an old post but it's so much similar to an older post that i've read here which had exactly the same symptoms as yours especially the " on time start of attacks " the difference is only that her attacks start at 6 a.m every morning , after much tests and investigation she found out that it was a ( Giardia infection ) a type of parasite that has the special character of attacking ( or let's say wake up as it is a living alien inside the body ) on specific exact time every day !! seems that it has a full time job in the body and sets the alarm to wake up and work on a timely daily basis 😳

I can't remember if she treated it with antibiotics or antivirus but since she pinpointed the root cause she managed to treat it and was shocked how relieved she felt afterwards !!

just thought to mention it for you as i feel it's worth testing for this exact parasite ..Good Luck 🌹
