Hi, I'm new to this forum. I'm struggling with feeling sick every morning, I eat breakfast which is cornflakes, by 11.30 got gripping pains in my stomach. Seems to be worse when I'm hungry. Have to rush to the toilet sometimes. Had my gallbladder out in2008 seems to be worse since then! Fed up with feeling rubbish. Can anyone help??

Do I have IBS
Hi sorry to hear about your pain I am the same on top of my chronic pelvic pain. I don't know if IBS I may be being silly but my pain is so sore sweats and honestly just want to cry. Is IBS that severe that can cause hospital admissions etc. Ur not alone xx
Gems85,Get a Gastrologist to check you out. Don't try guessing if it's IBS,because IBS can be very painful, before I accepted it was IBS through Gastrologist tests diets ect ect I had 4 A-E trips plus a one week stay for tests,so don't wait till that happens to you get it checked out. Take care
Hi I've had IBS 12 yrs, and 6yrs of that chronic IBS. I had my Gall Blader out some yrs ago and I must admit I think my IBS has got worse. Just to make a couple of suggestions try Rice Krispies for breakfast that was one of the first things I was told by a Gastrologist I used to eat corn flakes, I can't say it made any difference to me,but it may for you. And Gems85 ,yes the pain can feel bad enough to send you to A-E but you will just get some morphine,or Pethadine and sent home so it's not really worth the hours of waiting. My IBS seems to be in my Pelvici area,so my Gastrologist had my ovaries checked which turned out to be alright. I don't think there's a lot of help out there for IBS yes there's Diets and drugs but they don't work for a vast amount of people, but who knows you may be one for you. I do Beleive in one shoe don't fit all,so give a few things a try you may be lucky. Sorry I've ranted on so. Take care and check a few things out.
Than you for all your suggestions I will try some of them.
Could be IBS. You need to get checked by a doctor. But in the meantime try cutting out anything with corn, for me it's one of my worst triggers and sounds like it could be bothering you as well
Or even try cutting out dairy products if the cutting out corn doesn't work.
hi do you drink tea coffee with bkfast? have you had test for lactose? try a week or two on goats milk instead
or try porridge without any sugars. sugar seems to trigger ibs for some and a lot certainly does for me.
hope this helps. wishing you good health soon

I have had IBS d for many years as I have said in previous posts. Have you seen a Gastroenterologist? If not I would suggest you ask to be referred. The breakfast....try porridge..I know sounds funny, but it has worked a treat. I have it with a few raspberries and blueberries and have less trouble now than I have had in years. I eat normally and NEVER overeat.....small amounts. My gastroenterologist actually said little and often. Tried all the 'fashionable fad' diets...and for me wasted time, money and caused more stress, I now eat a normal diet in small amounts. This is working for me after years of trying everything going. Common sense....and NEVER overeat. Good luck.
