conflicting advise.

I have been told conflicting opinions by GP and other health professionals including various diagnoses such as diverticulitis and prostatitis and osteoarthritis all of which don't tie in with main problems such as painful constipation and abdominal pains.

This leaves me feeling that I am not being listened to or considered to be deluded

It would be best to see a gastroenterologist. A GP is not really qualified to treat IBS. For prostrate issues, which I am not very familiar with, you can see a urologist.

I will echo b1b1b1's suggestion, and urge you to see a gastroenterologist.

In the meantime, some acupuncture and sports massage will be good for you.

You can relieve your constipation using : Aerobic Life - Mag 07 Oxygen Cleanse, 180 capsules. Don't follow the instructions on the vial, take 2 in the morning on an empty stomach with a lot of water and it will do magic :-)

I hope this helps!

I understand the feeling. Many are dismissive, and just chalk it up to "IBS"..just keep trying, you will find a good gastroenterologist or maybe a colon and rectal specialist. Don't take this as an answer. Keep insisting on tests..such as cat scans of the lower abdomen, a lower abdominal GI barium series, Sigmoidscopy, Colonoscopy, you will find answers. I too suffer from chronic and severe C, and find many of the products above, while effective for most people..may be a bit too much, and tear up my stomach..I don't really believe in "colon cleansers"..have you tried taking "Colace" stool softener? I take one every day, about 5pm..and this seems to help..no cramping. Weekend evening, I take Senna..which is one of best stimulant laxatives for severe "C"..also a glass or two of warm water first thing in the morning (you can add a slice of lemon, if you like), this will relax your intestines and help stimulate a bowel movement, and a glass or two before bed, is very relaxing, good for you "Google: benefits of drinking warm water". Also a cup or two of coffee in the morning can work too..
