Not sure if you remember my last post but I have IBSD it has been awful for the last few months , just like water ! I have been to Spain for 2 weeks and i was constipated the whole time? But since returning its back to diarrhoea and painful 😖
It’s a shocking yellow colour also (sorry to be so graphic) I suffer from anxiety to so I’m making it worse because I’m worried ! I’m back taking Imodium but it’s not working , I’m also bloated and look pregnant , has anyone any ideas of what I can try to reduce these symptoms?

Have you been diagnosed by a gastroenterologist as having IBS? You probably should see him again to go over your current symptoms, as they seem quite difficult.
Hopefully you will get some answers and at least some relief of your anxiety. It is so difficult as the problem is poorly understood and there are no cures - just some aids. Do you follow the FODMAP diet?
Go to Monash University site. This is where it was invented & is in Australia. It is a bit difficult to follow especially at first and with a family, but it does provide some relief. It is best to do it with a FODMAP trained dietician. It has helped me, but nothing helps 100%.
As long as you have spoken to your doctor and ruled out anything more than your IBS, I would suggest you try the fod map diet , it has changed my life , the elimination period is the hardest bit as you have to get your head round it, but there is loads of help on line free I have been told the montash app is good but you have to pay for that. Unfortunately where I live we do not have a dietitian nor do they send you to a gastreoterologist for IBS once diagnosed by the doctor it is -of you go and get on with it. I found the fodmap through desperation BUT it worked, try it it is worth it.
Hi, I also have IBSD and have trying to drink twice as much water than normal and think this is starting to reduce the diarrhoea. I also have anxiety which really does make it worse so I am working on this by seeing a therapist and doing meditation. I have to constantly remind myself to remain calm or everything I eat just goes through me. I know your misery 😕, take care X
I was told to do fodmap diet so I did I was told it would help my IBS a lot
It made it even worse I had diarrhoea 4 days non stop
I was so weak I could not go anywhere.
Tried getting in touch with dietitian and she did not want too know, she knew that I had an allergy to gluten and wheat also lactose and that I was on a diet for that but fodmap really made me quite ill so if you are trying it
Please be careful it is not for everyone, there is no shame if it doesn't work
Hi I feel your pain I have been having a similar experience . I have had 10 days with a normal ish bowel movement then this morning very loose watery diarrhoea . Had to take immodium and stay in doors . I have been trying the FODMAP diet and so far I think gluten upsets me . It’s really horrible isn’t it just when you think thing are becoming more stable it starts all over again . It might be because you have eaten different food in Spain eaten at different times ? Alcohol ? Etc and now you are back home it has upset your gut again . I have been drinking peppermint tea recently this seems to help a bit too .
I going to give it a try , I don’t think my diarrhoea can get any worse lol I’m so used to it now ! I take 6-8 Imodium every day it just doesn’t work anymore 😢
Hi i am so sorry to read of your symptoms i really do feel for you. i really hope they ease up soon. I have not long been diagnosed with IBS my doctors sent me for loads of tests before they would confirm it . My bad days are nothing compared to yours. I had to take Imodium yesterday and i tried for the first time Colpermin witch is a peppermint oil capsule to help with IBS relief. I was so bloated and it did help. After the embarrassing wind my stomach did feel lot better. Wishing you all the best. Jill
