Having ibs is a life changer. It controls my day,my whole life.I never know how the day will start or finish. To me the worst part is not feeling clean.
Sometimes after a bowel movement it’s so hard to wipe and get clean. So I have a shower. But as the day goes on I feel itchy and dirty so I have another shower and then it becomes like an obsession.Ive even had talking therapies which did help at the time but it never really goes away.
When I’m working all I can think about is getting home and getting in the shower.Thats how most of my days are.Anyone feel like me?x

This seems to me more like obsessive behavior and is a psychological problem, in my opinion. It doesn't seem related to IBS, as surely one or two showers a day is adequate. I would talk to a psychiatrist about this. You could also get a bidet.
I also have problems with getting clean after several loose motions. Now use the moist wipe toilet paper on those occasions although I realise they are not particularly eco etc. Then don’t need numerous showers and can push on with my day. I was really worried about leakage and some bleeding but recent colonoscopy was normal so just a problem with the IBS.
I now the feelings i have had my prblems for over 62 years it started when i was 20i had a bursr ulcer in my stomach and had problems ever since .but as my granny used to say to me there is always some poor bugger worse off then you
I have this problem and convinced I smell but . I use moist wipes . But I’ve bought eco friendly wipes for babies like a face cloth but smaller . I use them . Then I soak them in some soap powder. In a small lidded tub . Then just wash them with the towels . But I suffer from overflow caused by constipation . And then the loose stools. I always carry the moist wet ones with me so when I’m out I can use them . I’m fortunate that I’m retired soon work issues .
Sadly I think you're displaying some kind of obsessive behaviour. One shower is adequate and wet wipes are great in emergencies unless you do soil yourself.
I have purchased a "portable" bidet. (basically, a tube with a button and bowl)- fill the bowl with warm water aim the tube to where you need it and press the button - hey presto, a bidet for about £10 which can be used anywhere. I know exactly how you feel, and I don't think it is OCD, because there is a very good actual reason for your behaviour. Try this out and let me know how it goes. In the meantime keep well and keep safe.
Thank you for your advice,My sister in law has bought one of these I think I will give it a try.In the end you get desperate and will try anything.I’m so touched that you took the time to reply.Thank you.x
