At a loss....wondering if anyone else had a similar experience

Hi, I'm a 19 year old female with the symptoms of; pain with intercourse, irregular periods, pelvic pain prior to bowel movements, and changing bowel movements etc....

I was diagnosed with IBS when I was 13, however then when I was 17 I got diagnosed with GERD and Esophagitis, alongside a Milk and Gluten intolerance, and so the diagnosis of IBS was dismissed...

However, my pain prior to bowel movements has not subsided and so alongside my pain with sex and irregular periods my doctor reffered me to a gynae and I had a laparoscopy 3 weeks ago, unfortunately this came back negative for endometriosis which would have explained my symptoms.

So really i am a lost cause, and have my lap follow up appointment tomorrow and was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience or anything?

Thank you for reading x

I have ibs too. Lots of things I cant eat and give me pain. Rice. Onions. Anything in the Aubergine family. Avocados, very bad indeed. Check in your diet what is upsetting you. I find a daily Probiotic has helped a lot too. Bread is very bad for me too.

I've had a couple of really bad pains on the left side of my colon with an immediate urgency to go to the loo and pass loose stools. I had a colonoscopy and they found grade 2 haemorrhoids and a single diverticula in the right side which is a weakness in the intestinal wall and causes a pouch. Maybe you should push for a colonoscopy. It's the only way for a proper diagnosis

I also suffer from irregular periods and pain during sex and bleeding but I'm peri menopausal as well. They found 3 polyps and I have a small fibroid. Is a laporoscopy a camera? I had a procedure where they could see with a camera but I've forgot the name of it

In exactly same position. 20 yrs old, same pain, negative for endo from laparoscopy in feb, diagnosed with IBS at 15. When I had the laparoscopy I had the marina coil put in to treat heavy periods, has really helped in terms of periods. Still have awful IBS. I have no advice as I’m really struggling myself...all I can say is that you’re not alone! Finally have a consultation with a gasto consultant, hopefully for some further testing. Maybe you can ask for a consultation with Gastro specialist?
