Ibs and vaginal bleeding

I have had IBS for 13 years...

I now take anti spasmodics (the only things that partially helps)

But when I’m have a bad day with pain I have vaginal bleeding. Fresh new blood. Does anyone else experience this? I have told my doctors for years but they never seem concerned

I would discuss with a gynecologist. As far as I know this is not part of IBS.

As b1b1b1 says any blood loss should be investigated by your GP get an appointment

I got refered to gynae also had a laparoscopy and it was clear so have been signed off. The doctors are aware of this bleeding but don’t seem concerned?

Yes, I have vaginal bleeding when I have UTI..gynecologist, said it is "normal" and nothing to worry about. Also have you had any tests to rule out endometriosis? Have you had abdominal surgery? Sometimes the scar tissues, can become weak over time and may be causing bleeding. I think my bleeding may also be caused by possible "rectocel" that many women get. If you "Google" it will show you images of this, and rectal prolapse. Keep us posted..

Hey. Yes I have just recently been discharged from a gynaecologist. I had a laparoscopy which found no endometriosis. I have never had abdominal surgery. And yes rectocele I have been told I have but wasn’t aware this could cause bleeding?
