Yellow diarrhea

I have bright yellow diarrhea can anyone tell me what causes it. I have IBS D. thanks

Can be caused by a number of things, including infection, excess bile and poor digestion. Go see the doc and have a still culture done to check for microbes. If possible get a referral to the hospital to check for bile acid malabsorption (treated with Questran powder) and a stool test done to test pancreatic enzymes levels (treated with Creon tablets).

JohnaB hi thanks for your reply. From what I read from answers, it certainly sounds like "bile". I had my gall-bladder taken out years ago and apparently this yellow diarrhea is one of the results. I had this problem for 5 years and thought it was the result of a sea sickness injection I had - but maybe it prompted something else to happen. Or maybe it was a coincident. I am off to the quack monday. Wish me luck. Thanks again.

Very often bile acid malabsorption comes from having the gall bladder removed. Sometimes it just happens. Good luck with the docs!
