Hello everybody! I will see a doctor next week, however I would appreciate your opinion and experience. I have an upper right abdominal inflammation and occasional cramps. These started a couple of months ago but stopped after a couple of weeks, however its back again.
I also had a bit reflux, bloating and light nausea two days ago but not anymore, no diarrhea or constipation (3 day constipation first ibs flare up two months ago). Do you think this may be ibs? thanks for reading.

Hi Serch18 from what you say it is hard to know if it ibs or or maybe acid reflux. We all present symptoms differently but i may be wrong but i ibs normally has with it diarrhoea, constipation or a mixture both. I would wait until you have seen your doctor. Maybe they will suggest looking at your diet or refer you to a consultant before trying to self diagnose. Hope things work out well for you.
Yes, of course your doctor’s advice is the best course of action. Out of interest, though, I’d put my money on gallstones causing pain that high up in your abdomen.
Having had IBS since my 20’s (I’m 67) and much more recently had gallstones (and had my gall bladder removed), that sounds much more like the source of your symptoms.
Yes I was going to say gallstones. If it is, please do not delay in having them dealt with. My partner kept leaving his because he could go 4-5 months without pain, which although infrequent got worse and worse, after a year he got taken to hospital suffering from pancreatitis and had to have gallbladder removed but was very ill. He's better now, but wished he had acted faster, he was lucky he came through it.
He obviously did because in between pain it was simmering and causing infection, which I'm sure would show up on scan as inflammation. They thought he had a fatty liver when he first was taken to hospital (in Spain) whilst on holiday. They said he was suffering from may be hepatitis But back home, had thorough tests and stones showed up. But he left it a year, then it was real bad. They do it with keyhole surgery and you are only in a day, and after about two days the discomfort seems to get better. You have to watch your diet a bit more without gallbladder...less fat. So it's not too bad.
Thank you Rosiepie, I will definitely will keep in mind I might have gallstones and if I do, will take care of that asap. I’m glad to know your partner is better know, it’s a very stressful situation. Take care and all the best
