It's so easy to fall into a trap of illuminating food and drink. Life is so short tho so don't do it if you enjoy your daily coffee. From what I have learnt it's unlikely to be coffee but more to do with how healthy your digestion is. have you ever been on a strict diet or taken Pro biotics? I've spent years and money on products for what I thought and was told was IBS. I've illuminated foods from my diet and becameso super strict with eating habits. I suffered with an eating disorder at 11 years old so this just brought lots of memories back around being obsessed with healthy foods and missing out on the things I enjoy. I really would like to support anyone who feels that there is no hope left. There really is . it's just finding out what could be causing it..

and no I don't think GP are experienced enough in this area

. there only second guessing and I would rely on certain test through NHS either. You said u have lactose mill are you completely free of dairy products? xx x

message me if you like x x

Hi there I take daily multivitamin and a probiotic. I am terrified of food 😞 the main reason for investigation was diahoriah and nausea , sickness has increased on the diet slightly , diahoriah defiantly less but always accompanies the sickness which is easily once a fortnight with nausea most days mostly nights

I had both cameras and mri and ct colongraphy, every blood under the sun. All they have said is possible ibs and diverticulitis.

They suggested cutting dairy and gluton .im nearly 2 years. NOw like this though I do have the lacto free range

Have found hardly any triggers

The consultant signed me off and said try to gradually introduce things, this was last yr and I havnt as so much on this free diet still makes me ill

I’ve had omperazole for a yr and now stopped , hey tried lom something but didn’t agree, they keep trying to give me antidepressants but having had them through my cancer I’m not going down that route again

Whatever they say I know I pick up every bug going and they never got my sickness u fee control during treatment in 2010 , I’m SURE I’ve been left with a very delicate digestive system

So that’s me sorry for the essay hahaha

Everyone's different and you maybe ok with fruit teas. However I had to stop drinking them as they were giving me a very acidic stomach and god was I ill. Turns out they were the wrong thing and I was better with the coffee. Go easy if your going to try just in case you get a similar reaction.

Hi Purplewoman,

I used to have a reaction to fruit teas, possibly because of fructose, but some teas also have additives.

As you have sensitive digestion, I would suggest trying organic ones with no preservatives, colours or additives. Or you could also try just some organic lemon squeezed into hot water.

I personally have been using Barley Cup as alternative to coffee. Not easy to dose at first. You might find this article gives you a laugh: sickofibs.com/ibs-triggers/...
