Inflammation??

I have suffered with IBS for years now, but I wondered if anyone out there gets inflammation in the rectal area which goes on for three or four hours and leaves you feeling as weak as a kitten and shivery, this knocks the stuffing out of me and while the IBS is SO annoying to have to keep going back and forth the toilet all the time (I don't get very much in the way of stomach cramps as so many do!) this inflammation really kills me!! Sometimes I wonder if I have mild to moderate colitis, but who knows - can't get to see a doctor these days, tho' I will try yet again tomorrow as this inflammation is just too much now - no-one else seems to mention this on this IBS forum - are there any other sufferers like me out there???

Hello, what does the inflammation feel like?? I like you do not get any cramps/pains, but I constantly go to the loo/ feel the urge too!! this can quite often make me feel like my insides are coming out of my bottom! Not literally but does feel like a warm, full pressure feeling at exit end! So hard to describe this!! When I get this I get very shaky/shivery as fear diarreaH will leak whenever I move! I get very sore : itchy from too much wiping but this feeling is different to that! It's more just on the inside! I hate this IBS! So fed up of it! Xx

The inflammation is in the Rectal area and can at times feel like a severe bout of cystitis, I also wonder if I may have haemorrhoids and its them that get inflamed - hence I need to see a Doctor if and when I can get an appointment!!!

All I know is that it is VERY debillatating and just 'wipes me out' I hope someday soon to have an answer to it all as have been suffering like this for far too long - other doctors I've seen have not helped at all - just keep giving me things like Buscopan when I repeatedly tell them I do NOT have much in the way of pain in my Stomach!!!

Like you I too HATE this IBS and am truly fed up with it to too!!

In your case could it be you have a slight 'Prolapse' - again only a Doctor could confirm this - good luck with that!!!!

Hi Jilly, I too was wondering what the inflammation feels like (sorry never had cystitis) is it like a stinging sensation? Maureen.

Its more like your 'nether regions' are on fire!!! Hot and Burning and I know it will go on for 3-4 hours before it slowly subsides!!! Surprise, surprise I have finally got an appointment next Friday with my Doctor!!!!! Lets hope I get something in the way of relief - anyone else out there with IBS and these symtoms??

Sounds very similar to what I get some of the time, usually if I go a lot of times. Let us know how you get on. Maureen.

Hey, I hope you get to see a doctor soon who listens to you! We know our bodies better than anyone and I really don't like how we get told 'it's just IbS' and left to deal with it!! I didn't have a prolapse when I was checked 18months ago! But I can say things are definitely wors after having my 2nd child 3 years ago. Xx

If it wasn't an easy birth or even if pretty 'normal' I would get it checked out once again, it may be a slight prolapse?? Worth seeing your Doc IF possible!!!

Just wondering if you are using any creams on your tail end. Germoloids have some local anaesthetic which I thought would be helpful but it gives me a burning sensation straight away (I don`t use it now). If you are using something, you could be having a reaction to it

may i ask how are you now ?? did your doctor pinpoint the root cause of your inflammation ? did they give you any treatments other than the usual Buscopan ?
