Hi there
Does anyone with or without ibs have a dodgy stomach before their period is due? Like a few days before? I am suffering right now and feeling scared. I think I need to bite the bullet and go and get myself checked out x

Hi strangely I'm kind of opposite. I pretty much have constant diarrhea but about 2 days before I start im not as bad and then it gets really, really bad as soon as I come on. I do have PCOS though and some complications from a recurring large cyst that's attached to my ovary, tube, bowel and bladder. Also, for the first few days of my period I don't seem to bleed except when I have a bowel movement but my gynaecologist doesn't seem to worried about this and neither did the gastroenterologist I saw- though he didn't seem to bothered about anything I was telling him...
Hi Kate, this was a long time ago so I hope you're ok now. But if you're still suffering every month please get checked out for Endometriosis. I waited for years and wish I'd looked into it sooner.
I do but mine is painful and makes me look pregnant as I am grossly overweight and then swell during my period as well Gail
Definately get checked out, if havent already. Every month without fail for the 20 years, my IBS has always played up just before, during and for a few days after. The only restbite i got was when i was pregnant, my IBS virtually disappeared.
When my IBS kicks off, small bites to eat (no full meals) and only safe food, exercise and meditation. Although i will still get pain and diahorrea, its no where near as bad, hormones just mess with my IBS.
