IBS FLARE UP AND FLIGHT TOMORROW FROM UK TO USA HELP?!

Hi everyone, today I woke up with bad D immediately. I have IBS D but also suffer from a condition called endometriosis and it's also that time of month so I suffer bad migraines too. Anyway it's fallen totally at the wrong time as tomorrow I'm flying from London Heathrow to LA, I should be looking forward to it but really struggling because I feel so god damn terrible today! Does anyone have any tips for dealing with IBS d on the plane and anything for migraine/headache? I've requested a seat by the the loo already. Really worried about how I'm going to cope! Any advise would be massively appreciated

Hi there, You have my sympathy when you are due to fly, been there myself in the past. I agree on the immodium suggestion and give yourself extra time beforehand. Paracetamol never helps my migraines but worth a try or talk to the chemist about a specific migraine treatment. At least your near the loo and perhaps a relaxing app on your phone might help. Best of luck and safe flight. 😊

Hey thanks for your reply. I've got plenty Imodium which I will be taking. I've been awake all night as I couldn't fall asleep for some reason so feeling very rough this morning 😔

Thanks for your advise! I will definitely be on the Imodium. I've been up all night at the hotel and already in the loo with my stomach. I don't know how I'm going to cope on the flight, I've not slept one bit. I've been in bed since about 12.30 and not even fallen asleep! I really hope I get through this okay!

Hi definately agree with the immodium or similar ,paracetamol never worked for me so I would also suggest getting specific tablets for migraine relief.or some stronger pain relief just for the journey. I suffered endemetriosis when I was young it is a night mare, so stronger pain relief may suit i.e. Co-codamol I get mine from the doctor, as far as the edemetiosis is concerned all I can Say is they operated twice which helped in the short term , then I did manage to have children two with difficulty which did improve my condition for a while then returned with a vengeance , then had a hysterectomy at 33. it is The best thing they ever did for me. but I think you get better treatment now?

I do not eat when I travel or very lighty so as not to agrivate my stomach ,not the best but it works for me.

Yes i agree went to Tenerife in Dec absolutely terrified and its only a 4 and a half-hour flight. Only had a small bit to eat the day before. On the day had nothing to eat. Not a great idea but i felt that was best for me. Took Imodium before and more in bag. Wore tena lady pants which gave me a lot more confidence. That helped. I hope u have a great holiday. Sorry i couldn't be of more help.

I travel to USA regularly never drink any hot drinks on plane only bottled water. Only nibble dry food like crackers. I take Cocodamol for migraines.

Usually ok it's the days before I travel are worse must be stress although I am used to traveling always worry. I never eat a full meal the day before just dry food. Good luck.

I just read this so you are probably already in Los Angeles. I'm wondering how your flight went and if you are okay now? I recently had to take a trip just across country, but with three different planes, and I was really worried. Wearing the protective pants did help me relax and nothing actually happened.
