Thirsty = D

Does anyone else wake up extra thirsty on days where you then end up having D? Yesterday I was so thirsty when I woke up and must have gone about 10 times to the loo through the day. Its always like a weird little indicator of what’s to come....

Hi, yes this happens to me too and as you say it like an indicator of what's to come. I know when I wake feeling like this that my IBS has flared up and I will be in the loo most of the day, I also feel a bit yucky like mild morning sickness but not always. Doctor says just another symptom of IBS! and told me to keep really hydrated throughout the day, which I have really been doing, taking my bottle of water everywhere but it doesn't help I woke yesterday to the feeling and had really bad D all day through out the day even though I stopped eating. I really hate this IBS it's taking over my life I try everything and watch what I am eating but cannot get it under control only thing I have found helps slightly is peppermint capsules or starve myself all day.

Isn’t it horrible to open your eyes and feel that way immediately? Interestingly I didn’t feel thirsty this morning and have been fine today!!!

I saw a gastro consultant yesterday. He is now going to do lots and lots of tests for me to see if he can find the cause. So glad he didnt say “it is just IBS. Good luck”! Although I am sure that is what it is!

I agree with the water drinking thing but the problem is - even then you end up in the loo all the time with all the peeing!!! x
