Yes, I had the first IBS blood test done today and in two days will be assured if it is or is not! It is now considered a “disease” and will be detected thru the blood. Look it up, it is called ibschek and My doctors office said I am the first to get it in our area and their office!!!!! No more invasive tests, wondering, repeat visits, a definitive test for IBS, now a disease with a name. It also can detect CHRONS and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. In the next few years they hope it can detect Diverticulitis too. Two days and waiting!

IBS BLOOD TEST
I'm confused by this. IBS by definition is a syndrome, not a disease, and can only be diagnosed through the elimination of other things. Can you tell us more?
That was the case! This is a new blood test that somehow uses your d n a, enzymes, and bacteria in your body to detect IBS! You can google ibs blood test and read there how they have created it. A couple doctors had been studying this for years and found genetics play a part. It is new to our area and my drs office just got it. My results come back today, I will post and get all info that coincides with findings as soon as they call!!! It is called IBSchek, brand new to save patients from invasive tests and constant dr visits. Please go online and read about it! Best of luck to you!!!
Was it explained to you that the IBSchek can only test for post-infectious bowel problems?
If your issues aren't due to a previous gastro infection, then you'll still need to have further tests to rule out all other possible causes before your doctor can give you an IBS label.
A good way of getting your whole digestive system thoroughly checked out without having to have cameras up and down etc is the camera pill (capsule endoscopy) although it's usually necessary to ask for this.
claire_louise above is quite right in that IBS is a syndrome not a disease in itself.

Not when taken with the second blood panel. I had both, one is the Ibschek and the second panel is white and red blood count with sixteen other digestive enzymes and acid enhancers that linger in the gut, combined with the ibschek it can reliably give you a definable diagnosis. You are correct, it is not 100 percent accurate but it is 85 to 90 percent accurate and I’ll take it! My doctors office was literally one week into getting the go ahead and able to offer this test. We did a three panel work up to rule out and enhance both the Chrones and Inflammatory possibilities at the same time. No colonoscopy or endoscopy for me!!!!
Crohns is a blood test but never heard of ibs being detected through a blood test
What was the outcome of your tests x
Wow, I'm intrigued! Sounds too good to be true though haha. Do let us know how it goes
