Change in habit

My ‘IBS’ is very odd, mostly nausea and gas, been low FODMAP for two months and not much difference honestly. Usually have a BM once a day with occasional constipation but on Tuesday morning I had 3 BM in an hour and since then my BM’s have been separate and small and pebble like (but not very hard), it’s just so out of character for me, and I haven’t eaten anything out of the ordinary, so confused and fed up. Can’t do anything anymore ☹️ Feel defeated by IBS (if that’s even what it is!) and how nauseous and horrible it makes me feel, not to mention how exhausted I am. Any help/advice/stories of people going through the same thing would just be nice to hear from people who know what it’s like!

Hi there Cait

Sorry you are going through a rough period at the moment. Just a quick question have you had tests and was then diagnosed with IBS or have you just been told you have IBS? I used to get a lot of nausea and I have to say it's improved since I started working through the Thrive Programme. I have Emetophobia, fear of sickness, and this was making me feel nauseous but I have now nearly finished the book and am now going back through it repeating the exercises, which is what you are supposed to do, and feeling so much better. I will need to complete all the exercises again and carry on until I know I am cured.

Being anxious can make IBS so much worse and I know how hard it can be. I will eat one thing one day and the next I am feel out of sorts and it's hard to pinpoint what's wrong. It sounds like also you may have other underlying problems like Dybosis/Candida (these are conditions I've read about on here). I personally would go to the doctor if you've never had any kind of test but even if you have I would go and ask to be tested for other conditions as you are doing all you can by following the low FODMAP diet.

Take care

Alicia

It's the had that it's the gas that makes you feel nausea, ask your doctor to do you a stooly check I had one and it turned out I had h.pylori which is a gut infection they treat it with antibiotics xx
