Change of bowel habit during lockdown

Has anyone else noticed a change in bowel habits during this lockdown? My usual habit is two or three loo visits in the morning, that’s it, but the last week it’s been once in morning then after main meals. Stool just the same, no change there. Did have to visit GP a couple of weeks ago as bad piles, so conscious of not straining and spending too long on toilet, so maybe that’s another cause? Really just get so stressed about any change or my ibs in general, which is bad most of the time ( probably the stress 🤪) just looking for some reassurance 🤞🏼

Yes, I have noticed a difference, I have not had a flare up but I put that down to the fact I have a loo upstairs😏 anxiety levels down, heaven knows what I will be like when lockdown has ended.

Obviously, any changes (without pain) are probably due to the stresses and strains of Coronavirus. If you experience pain, excess blood or mucus, phone 111, or your GP or GI team.

Just curious. Why do you say if you experience pain to phone 111, GP or GI team. I thought pain was just the norm with IBS?!

No, a lot of the time I have slight symptoms with no pain, and with me, pain is the notification that something needs to be rectified. You didn't mention pain in your current symptoms so I assumed you didn't have any. Basically, any two changes to the norm for you needs to be checked.

I have normal pain with IBS - it’s more uncomfortable pain though - never bad or excruciating pain. I think mild pain is normal for sure with IBS - but of course serious unbearable pain needs to be checked out.

My pain is pretty unbearable at times and I am sure I can't be the only one!

I’m sure, sorry to hear that - i just meant to reassure you after the reply from FRreedman saying shouldn’t have pain, but maybe if unbearable 24/7 then an update with the doc maybe an idea ?
