Hi there I was found HPoli and put on triple therapy its in about 60% of the population without problems, but for some of us probably due to weak immunity the bad guys take over the good guys and cause a problem in the small intestine .they can eat away and can and almost will cause a peptic ulcer untreated will cause you problems .only antibiotics will eradicate it and a acid reducing tablet to heal ulcer or prevent it..in some people will take longer to clear .i have only just finished treatment and hoping my doc will retest me in a few weeks .in the meantime I am taking a strong prebiotic and manuka active 20+ Honey to help boost the good bacteria .so in answer to your question it can be eradicated so don't worry

Hello! The antibiotics you were prescribed will kill off the Helicobacter pylori. If you were prescribed a bismuth subsalicylate like Pepto-Bismol, it helps to kill H. pylori too.

A PPI and sometimes an H2 blocker are prescribed to help the antibiotics work better and reduce stomach acid. The reduction in stomach acid will allow healing from gastritis and any ulcers that might have formed.

One round of antibiotics will usually kill off the H. pylori infection and any ulcers will likely heal in a few weeks.

You will likely be tested again to see if the treatment was successful.

Boy I feel for you .most triple therapies for H Poli are strong .if you feel to bad ask for something else..I also asked if they retest after treatment and our docs.wont do it. NHS the probiotics I am taking at present are Holland and Barrett's probio 7 but unfortunatly after finishing my antibiotics my system was low and now on another course as got extremely infected ear infection ( green muck) but need to go back as the antibiotics have done nothing in a week.if you read up on Holland and Barrett's site it tells you all about what's in them .hope you get sorted as its a time consuming .good luck lets know how you get on
