Hi I was diagnosed with IBS about 10 months ago. The medication Ive been given on the whole gets the symptons under control.
Bit of a development has occured when I go to the loo now their fresh red blood is this normal when you suffer from IBS ? I cant to read it as a symptom in anything Ive looked at on IBS sites.

Hi Saabx30 It is possible that you may have hemaroids from straining too much or that your stools were too hard. This can happen with ibs. However if this bleeding is constant I suggest that you see your gp to rule out anything else. This is a problem that you should not leave and must be checked out . X
It could also be a anal fissure (can be extremely painful to sit or when going to toilet), which is caused from straining to go toilet, I agree with the other replies you need to get checked out by your GP ASAP. x
Yes, light red blood alongside a stool is often caused by haemorrhoids or anal fissure and can happen whether you have D or C. If the blood is actually in your stool (streaks) then it may be something different. Either way, as other answers suggest, you should see your GP about it without delay.
Thankyou everyone kind of you to take the time and reply to my question x
Im going to make an appointment tomorrow to see the doctor.
Ive not had blood today! but im still going to get it checked out. Ive had a stich like pain today instead thats on my left side and radiates to my back!!??
im not a hypochondtriact honestly im into healthy eating and fitness and so Happy to be healthy normally
Hi hope you got on ok at the doctors, definitely worth getting checked out, I had bleeding on and off, i do have a anal fissure but also when I had my colonoscopy they found some ulcers, so its well worth having it all checked out. The colonoscopy is nothing to be afraid of so if they offer to do one, its well worth doing to rule out other more serious conditions as bleeding can be an indicator for many different things.
