Sounds very strange, but does anyone suffer with a buzzing vibrating feeling in the anus? I've noticed this for a week or so, it's only very faint, but annoying. No pain. I do suffer with ibs, although my symptoms don't seem to have been too bad just lately.
If anyone could offer advice as to what this could be?
I haven't had that, but I do occasionally get short sharp pains in that area which I think are part of an IBS reaction working its way through my gut. One of the medical explanations for IBS is that the nerves in our gut become hypersensitive for reasons they don't really understand; so it's conceivable that what you are noticing is either a low level of discomfort being signalled by hypersensitive nerves, or even just the normal workings of your body being signalled on over-loud volume. But I'm not medically qualified and can't tell you if there are any possible causes of this symptom that might mean you should get it checked out. I hope it clears up for you soon.
Hi yes I've had this before it's a strange feeling isn't it? Have no ides what it is unfortunately but as it doesn't hurt I presume it's nothing to worry about I thought maybe it's like a nerve twitching like you sometimes get under your eye maybe?
Hello! Yes, I've also experienced this and like JanetJAM, have just assumed it's a nerve thing. No pain as well, but I find it very irritating. Don't think it's anything to worry about though..?!
Thankyou for your replies, not too worried as it doesn't hurt, just irritating yes it does almost feel like a muscle spasm/twitch. Just makes me a bit nervous that the ibs is going to play up soon though!
Hi kpops I do get this vibrating but I get it in my lower tummy or my left hand side it feels like a mobile phone vibrating x

Hi Clara this has been happening to me on and off lately and I wondered wether it was related to my IBS so I started digging around on google and I found all the other posts were a year ago but yours was 6 days old I’m non the wiser but my IBS is currently flared up with the buzzing too so I definitely think it’s a possibility they go hand in hand for some of us 😉

Hi, I have been feeling the same thing and the only thing I can think of is it started occurring in the evening after I had eaten sushi in the early afternoon. Now it is a daily thing occurring every few moments lasting for a few seconds and repeat. Driving me nuts and makes me think that there is possible a parasite that was with the sushi.

I think what you are all feeling are muscle spasms, they usual go on their own but there are medications 1 can take to help stop them
I am also feeling this. It started after after I started taking antibiotics and ppi for my stomach. Any solution?
I also feel this my urgent diarrhea is particularly bad at the moment
