When I walk it's painful feels like my bowel is contracting and wind is dreadful. I took myself off to hospital last week and they have found I've a broken vertebrae and my lower spine has wear n tear. Gave me tramidol which does not work. Had ct scan mri I'm due back to see specialist Friday fr results. But I feel these cramps and contractions r Nothing to do with the back. These are definitely the bowel miss behaving. What do I do

Hi I totally understand how frightening these pains are as have had them periodically since my late teens, I'm 44 now and still occasionally have them. For me personally it's a combination of stress and constipation, I notice actually that I get very hungry the day before it happens so possibly eat more, then can't pass as much. What I do now is take movicol every day whether constipated or not as it draws fluid into the colon and helps to push through what is there. Also try and drink more fluids if you can at least 2l a day. Sometimes that's not enough so I have to use suppositories to help move what is stuck. I've suffered for years. I've had colonoscopy and scans, been taken in to a&e a few times as it's like childbirth and I literally scream with pain at its worst. Stress plays a big part too so finding ways to relax might help you or seeing the go for something to help alleviate anxiety perhaps. I feel for you x
I feel for you and understand what you are saying. I have had IBS since 1996/7 - I had a Colonoscopy before I was diagnosed and I would insist on one as they can't tell you you have IBS without doing tests. I had another Colonoscopy back in August last year as I had been getting worse and it went really well i.e. I found it quite an easy test.
I use Golden Linseed for Constipation as I have IBS C. I put around a dessertspoon/tablespoon in a mug and add water, leave for around half an hour to an hour and then consume, works really well for me and is natural (I use organic Linseed).
