Hi guys this is my first post! I've been to the doctors today and he's referred me for blood tests. Is this common before an IBS diagnosis? Any advice would be great. X

Yes they will rule out other things first such as infection, inflammation, coeliac etc x

Great thanks for replying. Googled the symptoms and worked myself up as some of symptoms are the same as ovarian cancer! Hopefully won't wait too long for results x

I had scan for ovarian cancer I pushed for it as my mum had it but all was fine x

The CA125 blood test is the one you need to initially check ovarian cancer you would prob needs to ask for this one x

Lots of potential tests first, you may also be asked to provide a stool test, urine test and/or breath test, along with a colonoscopy. So try not to worry, it's pretty routine to get sent for a huge list of things.

Thankyou both I'm having a few blood tests including the CA125, it was a bit overwhelming at first but doc reassured me it's normal to have these tests! Nice to have ppl to talk too about this x
