Not pooping
Looking back at your past posts it seems you are probably not eating enough, you say you are scared to eat which points to an eating disorder rather than ibs. Not eating is bound to give you strange symptoms, of course your stomach goes into spasm if it's not used to regular food, I'm afraid if you stop eating you will become ill with lack of nutrients. You need to eat and drink plenty of water to keep everything moving.
Thank you so very much bantam12!! l stay scared all the time especially eating. Things seem so terrible with the IBS. My stomach sometimes seem to be a mess and l try my best to eat. When l did not pass stools today l knew l had to something. Thank you again and l do appreciate your advice too!
One test you might not have had is Dysbiosis!
Thank you for your response. When l go to my doctor again l will ask him
about this.
Don't do it. I know exactly how you feel - I suffer in the same way and over the last couple of years my symptoms have gradually become so bad that I really struggle to eat. BUT eating so little for a long time has undoubtedly made things worse. I've lost so much weight, suffer terrible gas and my stomach has become so sensitive it flares up at the drop of a hat. Try your best to find foods that you can tolerate and keep eating as normally as possible. I'm interested in what the 'ibs test' you've had is? The only true way of diagnosing ibs is to rule out all other options.
Claire-louise l had the scope, ct scan and x-rays, blood test..... All have said... nothing found. EAT!! Since l hardly eat anymore l guess that does not help. l to have lost a lot of weight!! l get afraid that l will not be able to pass stools, or have pain also from the food. Just goes on and on it seems. l do not pass much of anything to none lately. That does worry me a great deal!!
Thank you Claire-louise for you responding.
If the tests have all come back clear I'd say that suggests you DO have ibs, as it's not something you can 'see' like Crohns, Colitis etc. Definitely go back to your doctor and keep pestering him/her until you get answers. But in the meantime please try and eat. Your constipation will get worse in the long run if you don't - trust me, I speak from experience. Also, I might be misunderstanding but from what you say it sounds like your constipation isn't that severe - lots of people don't have a bowel movement every day and this can be quite normal.
Hi Annie, sorry to hear your suffering from IBS. It's a very bad illness, when I have a flare up,I stop eating straight away & don't eat for 24hrs to let my bowel be fully empty, then I'm fine. Hope this helps you a little.
Thank you for your response too! l hardly eat anymore! Sometimes no bowel movement at all. Not a great deal at all sometimes even if l do have a bowel movement..
Thanks
Do try the FODMAP diet as this is a help for IBS. Copy and paste the link.

You could ask your doctor to see a nutritionist to help you maybe.
Also as it is causing you anxiety I wonder if stress reduction would help?
Mindfulness is very good at reducing anxiety - you may ask about this or CBT may help to calm your anxiety. If you will google them you will find out about each and you could your ask your doc about them.
Also the York test may highlight any food intolerances you have and may help?

Thanks Alice l appreciate it very much.
Alice l fix sometimes chicken nuggetss that you buy in the store. l love them with catsup on them. Do you think this will be hard to pass or hurt my stomach?? just wondering too.
Thank you Alice...........
I should say chew them well - everything is easier if we chew well and digest it better. It is up to you though to try things and see what is good for you. The low FODMAP diet is helpful to have a look at put it in on google and to understand things that are likely to be helpful to eat for IBS.
Dairy and Gluten in wheat are triggers for problems in many people.
The best thing is to write a food diary and it will help you know what helps you and what causes problems. I recommend trying this. Write what you eat every day and see the reaction in the day or two and if it is good for you or not, Then try to correlate what is helpful to eat and what is not.
Do get some advice from your doctor too.
A lot of people try cutting out dairy to see if this helps over a period of time but you must get advice on this. If this does not make any difference then you could try cutting out wheat products after that. But do see if you can get a nutritionist to help you - ask the doctor about this if you are going to start cutting stuff out of your diet.
When you do this you must keep a record to see what helps you.
