Constipation

Constipation is the worst pain ever and twice now my bowel has stopped working all due to Codeine Just after a hysterectomy op and last week my eardrum perforated Luckily I am married to a pharmacist So check you medication and side effects

I also have had promlems with codiene which I take for an unrelated problem. I have stopped taking it after my most recent bout of consipation.

Had the same problem but my Pharmacy stocks SULA-delicious boiled sweets-no sugar-Rhubarb & Custard, Strawberry & Cream and others- all quite delicious and gentle-just makes you Normal. Scubadiver

I should have added that the SULA sweets do not claim to be a Laxative but the makers had to add a Rider to the packaging that they can have a 'Laxative effect'-PROVEN!

Some must be cautious with this product as it contains sucralose and malt which can be very irritating to one with IBS.

Hi missymo, thanks to JUAJJV for pointing out that those who have IBS it is perhaps it is not wise. I put it to my Doctor ,as I was taking co-dydramol , as at the time I was having some PRED reduction pain which causes some constipation ( the co-dyramole). and she approved them. I do not take the SULA all the time, only when of need. Tends to be more gentle than a Laxative to me. John

Try using Citrucil (for bulk)& Miralax (adds moisture to BM) with plenty of water. It works. It may take a few days to start working. Good luck!

Janicecoo codene or co codomol are well known for blocking your bowels thats why if i really have to take them i have to have a laxatove with them! Awful😢😢😢

I was admitted to hospital on new years day with constipation my Meds are the reason I take morphine pregabalin and clonodine cilitapram and apixiban all of which have side effects I'm constantly taking senakot max and laxido but I agree it's the most uncomfortable pain ever
