Laxative dosage

Hi guys, I was just wondering what laxatives people take and how much you take and how often and whether that works for you?

I have lactulolose & laxido. .I take it when I haven't moved for 3 days.

@ squiggle... I take Mirilax one capful with water. It doesnt hurt or taste bad. But,I would ask your doctor first.And it works most of the time.

The second thing I take every day is Metamucill. This will balance you out. It takes a few days to work or even a week.

I've had constipation since I was born so I've been through just about every laxative , bowel stimulant and stool softener ever made. Because I have to take them constantly, my body gets used to them after a while and I then have to change products but by far the kindest, easiest, most reliable one I had was Movecol sachets. I took one ( or two if things were bad) at night and comfortably opened my bowels next morning. There was no griping or tummy pain. They worked for me for around 12 years before my body got used to them, and they stopped working. I had sachet form which I had to dissolve in water. They taste slightly salty ( I had lemon flavour but it wasn't strong, they also make orange I think) but not nasty. Good luck!

what kind of laxative is movecol? sounds hopeful!x

I occasionaly use glycerin suppositoreis and they work pretty quickly and they are cheap from bod care
