Hi I'm 25 years old but about a year and a half ago I collapsed due to being in severe pain in my tummy/under my left breast and ended up being in hospital, ever since that moment it’s been a nightmare I have been in hospital one other time with the same thing. I have been going to my GP constantly and they don't seem to know what going on, one said do a food diary which I did but nothing came from that, another said they will do scans, I had an ultra-scan which i assume was ok as I haven't heard anything back from it and I’ve been on so many different types of medication and do not what for as none of it seems to help. They thought I had gaol stones but my body bi passed it but their didn't sound convinced. Sometimes I’m in so much pain i do not what to do with myself and it comes and goes as an when it wants to. It seems to get worse when I’m stressed. i went to the GP recently again and they have said they think it might be IBS but i have none of the symptoms’ displaying it other than sever pain. they said that it might be IBS nervous system which is something to so with the nerves in my tummy so I said what can I do to help it and all they said was stop feeling emotional which is impossible cause how can you do that. I was just wondering if anyone could help me as it’s getting to me and I have start panicking now when I start to feel the pain come on and don’t know what to do. i would be greatly appreciate if anyone could help thanks

hi i'm new to this and was wondering if anyone can help me
Hi did the doctors consider diverticulitus. thats the same pain i get. i usually take strong co-codamol. do you get constipated and have to force at all. you have to be really pushy with the doctors if one isnt being helpful see somebody different. i ended up changing three doctors before i found one that listened. it is an annoying and stressful situation and you cant just turn off your emotions thats ridiculous. i ended up with an anxiety disorder due to my ibs and diverticulitus so what your feeling is very normal it does require you to be strong. you know your body better than they do so dont give up. Go back to the docs every week till someone listens. it may turn out to be something completely different but at least you will know for sure.
They probably didn't sound convinced about the gall stones because they don't present with pain on the left side because the gall bladder is on the right! The only organ on the upper left that would cause pain is the stomach and pain like you describe sounds more like an ulcer of some sort to me. It's not common to have an ulcer young but I had one a few years back and I'm 25 too. Obviously I'm not a doctor but I would suggest seeing another doctor for a second opinion. My usual doctor fobbed me off so many times so I asked to see another and I got the treatment required.

thats what i thought! But when my pain first started it was everywerer. now its constainly on the left side under my breast or next to it inbetween the ribs and if it get worse then slowley makes its was to everywere under my boobs to my tummuy to my upper thighs then stops there back to front so my back hurts as well. if it was an ulcer would it not be sticking out of me by now? Although to be honest i'm not 100% sure on what an ulcer is?! i would do but just move to were i live and not sure what docotors are good or not but i will go there again and try again thanks for helping
An ulcer is like a little break in the membrane, if you've ever had a mouth ulcer, it's pretty much like that but in the stomach. Stomach acid irritates it and it can take ages to actually turn into an ulcer. If it does turn out to be ulcer related, it would be more probable that there is a patch of irritation constantly being aggravated by acid. It's not the most common thing in people our age but it is possible! Pain is a strange thing, it can radiate to other places via the nerves and stress is a major factor in stomach related problems, I do labour-style breathing to get through my stomach pains!!
