Clear Colonoscopy

So after suffering years with IBS which has got worse since Christmas, then to top it all off I've ended up with the most painful anal fissure that needs an operation. But the specialist won't operate on it till we find out what's causing all the recent problems as he suspects it could be Crohn's, and booked me in for a colonoscopy which I had the pleasure of on Thursday. All went well from the clearing out of the pipes before the procedure to the colonoscopy itself which was a breeze. Nothing out of the ordinary was found but 10 biopsies were taken which I have to wait a couple of weeks for the results to come through. Just means I'm back to square one with good old IBS. I was just wondering what the biopsies can detect.
