Hi. I have suffered like you for years, it used to be a few days a month but got to the stage where it was every day.  I have tried everything and the only thing that has helped me is giving up tea and coffee and replacing it with peppermint tea.  I don't know if it is the lack of caffeine or the peppermint which is helping most, I have also cut right back on wheat, my bloating was very severe and very painful, it is by no means cured but I am much more comfortable.

Hi Martha, thank you for your reply. Yes mine is also a few days a month, mostly before menstruation but then stops when I start menstruating. Seems as though it is getting worse suddenly. Going to give peppermint tea a try for sure! Thank you, I don't feel so alone now 😀

Hi

Martha is right about peppermint tea. Something else to try is probiotic capsules. There's a lot of different ones. People find the one that suits them best. Avoid paying too much though (£100.s for some) as if you find a very expensive one that works you might be tempted to exclude others which might work as well.

Hormones have a lot to answer for.

Best wishes,

The previous comments are good advice in my experience. I'm post-menopausal. The only thing else I might add is adding fennel. I take peppermint and fennel both in capsule form, but others prefer tea. I also find that I do better without a lot of whole grains in the way of wheat. I can eat whole rice and oats and have to go easy on the fiber which is always pushed in people with our problem. Some folks just don't handle fiber like others. The peppermint and fennel made my belly flat again.

Hope this helps!

Hi Junebaby1140

Thank you so much for that valuable advice! I have also eliminated wheat from my diet. I am going to try the fennel with the peppermint too. I would prefer the capsules to the tea so will definitely be looking for that!

Thank you again :)

Take care!
