Hi

I know this is a bit of a random question, but I have really bad scars on my stomach from using a hot water bottle and wondered if anyone has any tips to get rid of them.

Thanks treez

Oh my snap , I would love some help with this as at the moment I'm pregnant and all I keep having to do is explain what the scars are !!

Normal my tummy is always covered .

I think when you're pregnant scars tend to show more so hopefully once you have the baby they will fade,I might try some cocoa butter on mine and I never show my tummy it's just I don't like to see them.

Thanks treez

I use a hot water bottle as well and although I initially have read marks on my tummy when I have used it they actually do disappear so by the time my tummy cools down they are gone. My hot water bottle has a cover on it - don't know whether you are using one with a cover?

Hi

Yes mine has a cover too hopefully will fade in time, got told off by the doctor but it's really good for pain relief.

Thanks treez

Can't believe you got told off by the doctor, if he/she doesn't suffer with IBS how to they know what it's like to be in pain! A hot water bottle certainly brings some relief.

Maybe try and make the water slightly cooler.

Best of luck :)

My tummy is just the same from months of using a hot water bottle, I have cut down recently and stopped using it as much, you'll be glad to know they do disappear in time, about a couple of weeks, I exfoliate mine when doing my body brushing and put coconut oil on, they will disappear faster this way!! Tell the Doctor to go stuff himself, its about time these Doctors actually suffered from stomach disorders, then they would know how much heat works instead of the awful drugs they prescribe!!

That's good to know thanks,I have cut down on my water bottle too,I agree with the comment about doctors too (to be fair it wasn't my regular doctor )but it's about time they put more money into sorting ibs rather than pain killers.

Thanks treez
