Does anyone else find their ibs symptoms are worse during periods of hot Weather? I’ve definitely noticed a difference, and not for the better🥵. Mind you doesn’t take much to cause flare ups generally at the moment😫

Yes, the hot weather makes most people with IBS worse. I feel like I am melting and the contents of my bowel are melting too!

Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water - you won't believe how much you're losing in this heat... and it affects the amount the bowel has to absorb too

Definitely - I am sure it was the hot weather that started off my most recent flare up (the heat seems to make me need to run to the loo urgently).

Someone told me it's because you sweat more & causes dehydration so drink lots of water. Hope it helps. I've been having terrible spasms & cramps 🙄

Thanks everyone, not fair is it, should be able to enjoy the good weather like everyone else. It is a bit too hot mind you 🥵

Yes definitely. I'm pretty much eating same diet as usual and treading carefully as you do but last couple days my guteral rumblings have been scary to say least! 😬

I'm suffering too! Plenty of trips to the loo, rumblings down below and pain. Looking into my medicine cabinet at my array of tried and failed remedies and wondering which one of these wonder cures to try this time!

The joys of IBS!

Definitely. My tendency to constipation has been much worse despite me drinking lots. I'd like to be able to eat more salads but if I'm not careful they have the opposite effect and give me stomach ache

this ibs has a lot to answer for. i have had it for over 30 years now.i feel this is not an illness just 3 words irritable bowel syndrome because there are so many people getting problems with there stomach all different.i take codeine phospate folic acid lansoprazole amitriptyline..codine is for the stomach aches and controls the faeces folic acid is to replace fruit and veg lansoprazole is for reflux and last one amitriptyline for the anxiety which this is causing....my own medication is collis browne which has been about for years and immodium instant.the collis browne to give me confidence which is not very often when i go to work.i dont take much collis browne because it can cause the reverse affects.i mainly have the prolem of loose stools .i am not saying this works for everyone but i do notice one hell of a lot of difference if i forget to to take my medication. i do hope this has made sense and helps someone.
