Thank you to everyone who responded to my post. I am sticking to the oats only diet with chamomile tea or green tea. Very boring but I would try anything. can't take normacol as it makes the wind worse. Can't eat beans or fruit or veg as they all worsen symptoms. I have stopped having artificial sweeteners as they are a common gut irritant apparently. Also stopped coffee though I only drank decaff anyway. I will post how i get on.

Hi , so sorry to hear things are so bad for you. Just a thought, though, I am 2 weeks in to the low Fodmap diet, and chamomile tea is one of the things on the "avoid" list. I too used to drink this alot, but have cut it out and drink more peppermint tea, and ginger tea as they are supposed to sooth the gut. It may be worth switching to peppermint tea for a while, as it might help bloating aswell.

I was at the end of my tether with all this too, and only tried the Fodmap diet as a last resort, but I have to say I've been strict with it and it has made a big difference. I was having terrible diarrhoea, but not since this diet. The low Fodmap diet might be worth researching, if you've not done so already.

I really hope things improve for you , best wishes BarneyB.

I cannot do Fidmap so work out my own all pulses off limits for me as are raw veg, even some cooked broccoli family but I risk them as with fruit compote

Use local honey as sweetener
