Ok this is going to sound strange but during this flare up. I have lost 80% of my body hair on my arms and legs. Has anybody else experienced anything like this. This is on top of the pain spasms mouth sores fatigue tiredness and loose stools.

Anybody got any ideas or offer help please

Hi,

Hair loss, mouth sores, pain spasms, diarrhoea and fatigue are all common symptoms of coeliac disease, have you had proper tests for this?

Try this link;

When you were tested for coeliac, do you know if it included a test for IgA deficiency? If it didn't, you should ask for this to be done. Follow the link I sent previously as you can read about it there.

It's possible that IBS sympoms can be partly, or even entirely, down to anxiety. Although I very successfully keep my symtoms under control with the low-FODMAPs diet, I've recently been following the advice of another member of this forum and taking Phenergan tablets at night. It's a sedative and it's allowed me to start reintroducing many high-FOD foods which would normally have me running to the loo and in a lot of pain. This makes me think that my IBS issues may be, at least partly, down to anxiety issues.

You can buy it OTC and If you want to see the original posts about this, look up Shon48 in the members list and have a read.

If I were you, I'd see a different doctor first though and ask about further tests for coeliac.

I will certainly ask about IgA test. All I can tell you is it was done on a upper ogi endoscope examination.

I have been on a low residual fodmap diet for a about 2 years. With cutting out gluten lactose and caffeine free.

I have in the past had a positive biopsy for colitis but it was discounted as there was no visual sign. As well as the reverse of visual sign but negative biopsy. To add to it I have adhesions which have formed in area where I have had no surgery. Which the docs cannot explain.

I have tried different doc's it goes well until they get the notes or speak to the previous doc.

Thank you so much for your help and advice

Please let me know how you get on! The blood test results sometimes come back negative, if it does ask for another test. It may take a couple of tests, mine did!

Unfortunately the results were negative. Hair loss increasing symptoms off the chart.

Ended up in A&E yesterday. And they refused to treat me or help with the symptoms
