Hi,

Presumably you've got an official diagnosis of IBS and have had all the tests, e.g. colonoscopy, gastroscopy etc?

Hi

I Assume that you have undergone various tests and have a full diagnosis. That so, have you considered whether you are swallowing excess air. I have posted about this before and the fact you say bloating is a problem when you lie down is a strong indicator. Air that makes its way into the small intestine as a result of swallowing excess aur can be excruciating. Worth considering as well as fodmap.

Hi ibswendy. As above, always best to get a firm diagnosis and the proper tests done to rule out other disorders. It does sound like IBS symptoms however, always best to be sure. I get very similar and have tried most things to alleviate the discomfort. Only things I have found that help a little is to go for a walk after my evening meal to move my meal down. I really don't eat more than a handful of food at any one time anymore as I can't take the bulk of a larger meal. A hot water bottle can sometimes help and lying on my side in bed rather that my back. Try to regulate breathing and make it nice and deep. I tended to "shallow" breathe when I was in pain causing me to swallow more air whichadded to the problem and, as mentioned above, is excruciating.

Best wishes

Andrea.

Hi Ibswendy :)

Eating healthy will definitely help with your health in general, I firmly believe that this is where the solution is. and sometimes we are so used to follow everybody that is in the same situation as we are..that we forget to focus on a solution..everyone is in fact taking different medications for the same problem..yet all continue still in pain...

2 years ago I was where you are now..I suffered for years..with ibs, fybro, alergies, liver and kidney stones...arthritis (knees and neck), depression, the list goes on and on..

I cant explain how, but one day in front of laptop watching youtube...a video on the side caught my attention....changed my whole life..and my family's too.

Modified what I was eating.

Never looked back..followed the right mentors, learned from them and now I'm the healthiest person my friends and family know.. :)

I started following people that have already achieved what I want..simple! not the ones that are in the same boat as us..as they cannot help us too..right?

I feel blessed, as I was taking all possible medications..like you guys...sad..not having hope is really the saddest thing we can receive as answer from a doctor, friends, family...

Seems that nobody can help us when we are lost in pain...

I am living a free life, together with my healthy family.

There is hope people! Believe! It might just change your entire life!

Love to all of you.

I get lots of night time symptoms too. I think it's around 4-5 hours after I eat, when the gas and bloating and pain starts. i have tried peppermint tea, buscopan for cramps and 'de-gas' for bloating. see if you can find a product from the pharmacist or doctor that helps. and discuss options with a dietitican or doctor to work out if you have any food sensitivities- you can also try taking a probiotic supplement to help the gut bacteria. hope you improve soon :)
