I have noticed that if am out or doing something and do not eat , generally lunch, until later than usual (3pm kind of time), so my stomach is relatively empty that I end up with diarrhoea very shortly afterwards.
Anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?

If I have an empty stomach I feel awful, I feel sick and when I do go to eat I then have diarrhoea shortly after. I have found having biscuits (oat cakes or the like) in my bag if I am out helps to stop it
it happens if you eat a big meal suddenly after a long time of hunger ..that is why i start to introduce food slowly in small portions so that i don't (shock ) the bowel with a big meal when it is still at rest and the digestive enzymes are still not activated ..in my case ..i always start with a cup of black tea and plain crunchy bread ..wait 30 minutes then introduce food slowly and in small portions ..and try not to keep your stomach empty ..try crackers or biscuits that you can tolerate .
If I leave big gaps between food and get over hungry my stomach lets me know by bloating and then when I do eat cramping up. Now I always try to carry something sustainable with me when I'm out like a muesli bar, packet of plain oatcakes or a small bag of almonds (these are great!). I have a suspicion that if your stomach is empty too long, your body still goes into digest mode and releases digestive acids which then pass into the intestines and then the bowel with no food to work on - hence diarrhoea (or in my case, gas.) This is my theory and I may be totally wrong, but by keeping my tummy happy by snacking seems to help. Also don't forget water...you might be forgetting to drink enough and getting dehydrated without knowing it.
Hi, I get this ,Because I cannot have lactose or anything with Fructose sugar.l take a Slice of weight watchers bread which has Dextrose sugar in it and Lactose free spread on it .I have to have Fasting Blood tests every 3months and that takes my stomach a week to recover. My Dr said eat small meals often never let your Stomach get empty, hope this helps .
I have this problem too. Some days when I'm feeling really bad and don't want to eat I end up feeling awful with an empty stomach. Think even if feeling really bad need to have something small to eat like an Apple just so stomach isn't empty.
