I've been suffering with bloating for a long time. Never know what to eat. Have done salads and been strict but believe, I think maybe wrongly, that nothing works if I am highly stressed, which I am. Have an underactive thyroid which I have medication for.
Been interesting reading the posts and hoping to pick up some tips to get better. It can be a difficult subject to talk about with some friends, so this is a great place to 'not be alone' with it.

Try to relieve your stress as it affects every part of your mind and body. There are loads of tips on this and other sites. Bloating can be caused by lots of things but primary culprits are gluten, soya, lactose, onions, lentils ,beans etc. Have you tried an exclusion diet, I recommend the Fodmaps app from Monash university.
I agree with checking the FODMAPs diet. You might be adding something to your salad that is causing you grief. Have a look at the list and make your next salad FODMAP free and see if you have the same reaction.
I have the same problem. I don't know what to eat. I drink Fennel tea. Peppermint tea is also good. Don't use it if you acid reflex. The pain from IBS for me causes a lot of stress.
