I have ibs which is not too bad at the moment and acid reflux, but I have major shortness of breath which is making life difficult. Does anyone else have this?-my ibs leaflet mentions it. I did tell my gp last October and had my breathing tested by a nurse who said I was fine and obviously thought it was anxiety.

shortness of breath
Hi annie,It may be right that it is just anxiety,which does make you loose your breath.
But I don't know you in the way of age,smoker,employment,all the things that go on in our lives.
I suffer Emphesema so I've gone through a few reasons for that,I'm not wishing that on you or anyone. I'm trying to say in my opinion the only way to test your lungs is
X Rays or Lung function test, or even depending on your age,an ecg. But Haveing said that if your a worrier (like me ) the chances are it's anxiety . Take care.
Hi, I don't if you're worried about anything but I get that if I'm really worried. You need to try very deep breaths at these times and if necessary a rescue remedy which will lower your anxiety, good luck it's frightening I know but you can do something about it;
Just to say that shortage of breath has several causes. Do not wish to worry you but one is heart irregularity easily checked/ruled out with a painless ECG. Some GP surgeries can do this. Best wishes.
