My son is 17 years old, would it be too young for him to have IBS, He doesn't feel hungry or when he does eat he feel nausea. Could that be a sign? He was constipated & I gave him a stool softener which helped him.

Need advice.

Hi Rebeccat, no 17yrs old is not to young you can have it at any age , but best to get him checked out at the GP.

Your son needs to see your GP as any change in bowel movement should be examined. If the GP is really concerned he will send him to see a specialist

He's not too young to have IBS but without tess by a specialist this can't be diagnosed. However IBS is a generalisation only diagnosed when there is no other cause for symptoms, Crohn's etc
