This is pretty much what I've done too! First I got rid of lactose. I felt so much better that for many years I thought I was cured.

Then I started having problems again. I went to the doctors because I thought it was wheat. I wasn't getting major symptoms after eating wheat, but I know it can be problematic for many people. I had the blood test for Celiacs disease and it came back negative. So I never got the second more reliable ( and intrusive! ) test

I cut out tomatoes, potatoes, and wheat because I still had a hunch it was troublesome even though there was no immediate reaction. I cut them all out for 6 weeks and then reintroduced them one at a time with a week between each. Tomato caused heartburn, potato caused stomach rumbling, but wheat / gluten caused an all over sickness. Everything ached, I thought I was going to be sick, and I got bleeding gums just to add to my joy. Sorry, I've shared too much!! Anyway now I feel much better. I feel healthier everyday.

DrewJew1980 Did you have a test for Celiacs before you gave up wheat? Have you tried going back to wheat?

Hello. Yes I have been tested for Celiacs, but I didn't know (and neither did the GP), that you have to actually eat wheat for 6 weeks (twice a day I think) for the test to work.

in reply to DrewJew1980

yes 6-8 weeks about the equivalent of at least 4 slices of bread a day! My GP did not know this either!

Hi Junie,

I hope you don't mind me butting in! I'm following this thread and I saw your question.I use Koko Dairy Free. I think it's pretty good :)

Hi Rosie

I do not mind your reply, the more the better, we all learn from each other

I like to know what works for others, learning from you all, is better than advice from the doctor.

Thanks

Junie
