Hazelnuts are high in fructans, so can cause trouble. Raisins, like all dried fruit, should only be eaten in small quantities, i.e. no more than 25g at a time.

Thanks for the replay! But almonds and peanuts is safe, right? I have just started on low fodmap and need some ideas to what to bring to work. I have trouble with getting enough energy for exercising after work.

It's a no to almonds which are high fodmap, peanuts are okay in moderation.

There is an iPhone app you can download from Monash which you may find helpful in planning your daily menu.

No almonds either.. I do not have a fancy smart phone but when I do this app sounds very nice to have.

Apologies Norwegiangirl for jumping on your thread! I do not have an iPhone either so am hoping they release the app for android soon.. Roz, could I be really cheeky and ask you, I have heard that there is a new 1/4 cup limit on butternut squash being a moderate portion of fructans. I have to follow a ridiculously restrictive diet that means I have been having quite a big portion of squash each day as its one of the few carb sources I am allowed. However I have a strong feeling that I am reacting badly to the squash.. I don't eat butternut variety, but the round varieties. I would so love to know whether the most recent data places the same 1/4 cup restriction on all squash/pumpkin varieties or whether its only the butternut variety that is considered high fodmap. No worries if you can't tell me, but if you could I would be so appreciative, thank you.

Best wishes to you all with your fodmaps journeys!

Raisins are high in fructose so avoid.

Walnuts are good...also glutenfree oatcakes (not for Roz... So you may want to keep an eye on your oatmeal tolerance too norwegiangirl).

I find fresh black grapes are good..up to 10 maximum is the guideline.

To bad because I don't like the taste of Walnuts... Outcakes? Hmmm.. Never tasted that. Love grapes!
