I’m about to start
Xolair
and I’m a little nervous. Anyone out there tried
Xolair
? Did it work for you? Did you experience side effects? Thanks 😊

Biologics (mAbs) - what are they and how do they work? 🤔
OMALIZUMAB/
XOLAIR
Xolair
blocks the action of IgE which then hopefully causes less allergic reactions.

Ventolin restricted
I’m on everything possible right now to try maintain control (even
xolair
) we just aren’t winning for any long period time. Even despite when I’m on pred, 2-3 weeks after finishing them I start asthma & eczema flare again. Both me & my consultant are trying to avoid long term pred.

I have been under hospital care since March,
Xolair
has been mentioned but it’s looking like a very long road to get that.

Severe Asthma and Severe Allergies - the joys!
The reason I’m asking is because I’ve had a good run on
Xolair
(started early this year) but as my usual allergy season rears it’s ugly head, so have my symptoms which has come as a bit of a surprise. Kind of gutting since
Xolair
had given me a new lease of life this summer.

Xolair journey - rash resolved
This was deemed to be a reaction to the
Xolair
and that it wasn’t safe for me to continue, and that the
Xolair
would be stopped. The rash died down along with the
Xolair
leaving my body over the next few weeks.

Lung function tests and skin prick tests
I’m so nervous that they’ll be normal (despite having multiple flare ups and confirmed high IgE levels) my consultant said that these results will feed into my case to get
Xolair
injections! Thanks Xx

Not ABPA (we think) but undiagnosed and afraid in Santa Clara, CA
I have read that Penecillium can be a rare cause of ABPA but no one will listen to me I am on a seemingly endless dose of Prednisone and they just started me on
Xolair
. When I try to taper down from the Prednisone I have hours long asthma attacks and intense pain in my chest and back.

Continue with Xolair or not??
Hi, following on from my last post where I explained I experienced really bad asthma flare ups after my 1st and 2nd
Xolair
injection, I managed to speak to my consultant and delay my 3rd injection for 2weeks so I could get better.

I’m having a moan...
Hi all, I’ve been on
Xolair
since Jan/Feb and my asthma has been amazing! I literally got my life back and have been so happy (bar that of driving myself crazy shielding).

Long term prednisone use
I had two failed attempts at both
xolair
and mepolizumab.. wasting nearly 3 years. Anyway I’ve finally got down to 5mg of prednisone,it’s taken some 5 years and now I’ve a feeling my adrenal gland is shot, I go for a short synacthen test tomorrow in London ..

Self Administration of Biologicals
My routine
Xolair
appointment yesterday, they explained that next time I’m in, they’re going to teach me how to administer my own
Xolair
to save going into hospital each month.

Starting Xolair Treatment..but nervous
My consultant got in touch today to say I’ve been successful in getting onto the
Xolair
injection treatment..it’s a glimmer of hope.. I desperately want to get off these steroids. I’m reaching out to find out about people’s experience with this treatment? Success stories? Side effects?

Xolair and pregnancy
Hello all, I am currently on
xolair
for severe asthma, been on it for about a year now. It’s been brilliant, and I feel like I have a good quality of life again. I’m just wondering if anyone has been on
xolair
and got pregnant ?? Was you able to keep receiving your injections??

Xolair is working!
I’ve come to the conclusion that after 2 doses of
Xolair
, it’s working! Who else has experience biologicals working this quickly? I still have some way to go yet to return to normal but this is a breath of fresh air (quite literally!)
