Xeloda

I really would have liked to cruise thru summer on xeloda as I loved having no nausea or fatigue!

I had progression on Piqray and switched to Xeloda. On Xeloda for about 16 months. After progression, switched to Oserdu and am currently on my second cycle. My tumor markers have been climbing consistently for the last 15 months. Scans during that time showed nothing until November 2023.

I would like to know how you tolerated Xeloda. Any tips for taking this drug?

I just started xeloda for bone mets in my spine and ribs. I have been in extreme pain since I started. I don't know what to do.

It has been a long time since I posted as my path has been plodding - learning to walk again, discovering even more bone progression, being pulled off Xeloda as it wasn’t working, more radiation and now Trodelvy.

Has anyone had any other treatments AFTER Xeloda? I was on Ibrance 125mg with Anastrozole before my 6 day treatment on Xeloda. I am HR+\HER2- with NO TREATABLE mutations. I’m scared (AGAIN). 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Jody

I was supposed to begin Xeloda today. For some reason, I am paranoid. First, I'm thinking my dose is too high. I weigh 168 pounds, 5’4” and my team has me scheduled to take 2000 mg twice a day. I think that’s a lot. Anyone else similar in size to me taking this high of a dose? Am I just paranoid.

Since Orserdu now failed, the next plan is Xeloda. I read here some reports about some bad side effects. My oncologist at Dana Farber gave me some choices and indicated that in my situation, Xeloda might be best.

The breast oncologist recommended getting off Piqray and starting a Xeloda/Tucatinib combination, based on a clinical trial. Tucatinib is able to penetrate the blood brain barrier. It targets her2+ cancers which I’m not (!)

Therapies until now: letrozole, tamoxifen, fulvestrant+ibrance, paklitaksel; now Xeloda. What could be the next therapies? We live in Europe (Croatia), so some newer treatments are not available (for example orserdu).

She started Xeloda on Nov 15th so she will have been on it 11 weeks total time . I guess that’s long enough to see if it’s working??? I guess her onc is now questioning if it’s working ? At our last meeting they said enhertu after xeloda. She’s been on ibrance /femara 2 years 9 months.

I've been dealing with anemia since I was on Xeloda which stopped working. The next chemo my onc tried was the worst and I spent most of January sitting in a chair, because all the side effects made my anemia a lot worse. I stopped the last chemo, but I'm still dealing with the anemia.

My oncologist is putting me on Xeloda and says I don’t have many options after that. I’m praying Xeloda works for me for a long time!! Has anyone here been in this situation? I’m scared to death. Up until now, life has been extremely tolerable. My palliative care team has my hip pain under control.

Moms just started her 3 cycle today of xeloda. So she’s been on it 6 weeks. Her T bili is normal her ast and alt are normal . But her Alk phos is up. Her doctor said they would continue to monitor it. Anyone else have this elevate on Xeloda ? Thanks so much!

I’m only on second round of six total. So far, labs are looking good except LDH is slightly higher than normal. I, like you, ask my oncologist for info. Mostly, I focus on how am I doing today…. What’s my energy level, status of my hands and feet (hand and foot syndrome for which I use Voltaren

I think it was perhaps because Doxil had been so built up as the kinder gentler version of Doxirubicin but not for me… after the N&V cleared, then the mouth sores started plus the HFS has not abated from my previous 18 months on xeloda….

Anyone get bad rashes taking Xeloda ( Capecitabine ) ?

2week on 1 off Scedule is seeming to be to harsh. Any Ladies have experience with better dosages and Scedules that worked best for them. Really struggling here and wondering if this is hurting Liver more than helping Mets at this point.

Xeloda seemed to be working for me but not for long and now I'm on Taxol. My CA27-29 has come down by half (no where near normal) and the neuropathy is getting worse in spite of lower dose, so another option is appealing!

My soles were quite purple and my USA oncolgist asked me to take an extra week off from xeloda to recover… I stressed over not being able to muscle thru it like when I have succumbed to needing a wheelchair to get through airports etc. Lord help me!
