I just started xeloda for bone mets in my spine and ribs. I have been in extreme pain since I started. I don't know what to do.

Get a script for pain relief and ask your oncologist if you can have a scan review. Just in case the xeloda isn’t working. It’s better to check now and if the pain is new then there shouldn’t be any problems with getting a scan now.

I’ve been on Xeloda for 14 months now. It has been better than any other therapy at killing my cancer, but it causes me terrible pain as well. I take oxycodone for the pain prescribed by my oncologist. NSAID’s work well too for this kind of pain but I can’t take it due to my cancer spread to my stomach. Wishing you well, take care.

I also have been on xeloda for 14 months and it has worked the best so far and I feel better… my various pains have mostly disappeared at least when I remember to take celebrex daily at noon and if I feel sore I will take a Tylenol in morning and again at night. I have heard that Claritin is good for bone pain too!
